Teaching AP Government in a Shortened Semester- Week Eight- Polling, and Applied Civics Project

This is a little later than usual, but it’s been a crazy week! Unit Four the bane of my existence, mostly because I don’t have a lot of resources and I’m usually burnt out at this point.

Week 8, Days 33-37

What was covered this week:

Day 33: We took a political ideology test, put in on our chart,  and got ready for our big day of campus-wide voting! There are a few different tests out there, so make sure you use one that you are comfortable with. After that, we spent time reviewing expectations for the next day in our small gym where the school was coming to vote!

Outside the classroom work: No homework this week.

Overall reflection: Week Nine brings practice tests so we can see where we are at and what we need to work on.

Days Left Until the AP Test: 33 class days

Current Mood: This week was amazing! Between the incredible work, students did on the voting day and being filmed as one of Arizona’s Teacher Spotlights, I am so grateful. It also doesn’t hurt that Spring Break is right around the corner, and we have a two-week break…
